Counter and shelves at Yashiro Tea & Coffee, cozy family-run café in Toyooka

☕ Yashiro Tea & Coffee – Cozy Local Café Near Aity, Toyooka

Yashiro Tea & Coffee was recommended to me by a Japanese friend. It’s a small, family-run café in Toyooka that has been around for over 20 years.

First Impressions

From the outside, the café doesn’t look flashy — dark tones, slightly hidden near the Aity shopping center. But once you step inside, the warm and cozy atmosphere with soft jazz music makes you feel instantly at home.

Menu & Drinks

Like many Japanese cafés, Yashiro offers a simple food menu for breakfast and lunch at reasonable prices.

My favorite spot is by the entrance, sipping coffee while watching the quiet street outside.

☕ They also serve latte and cappuccino, but to be honest, I wouldn’t recommend them. I tried both, and the flavor didn’t quite meet my expectations. I think it’s more about the machine than the beans or technique — just not the right fit for Italian-style coffee lovers.

Friendly Owner & Personal Experience

The owner is very friendly and easy to talk to. I even took the chance to practice my Japanese in a real conversation 😊.

It’s the kind of place where you can relax, read a book, or enjoy a quiet chat with friends.
