About Bean JP

Learning, living, and building a life in Japan — one step at a time.

Hi, I’m Bean.

I’m a Vietnamese living in Toyooka, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.

I currently work at a traditional ryokan in Kinosaki Onsen. My job gives me the opportunity to meet people from different countries, use Japanese every day, and learn more about life and culture in Japan.

Bean JP is not a news website or a travel website.

It’s simply a place where I document what I’ve learned and the experiences I’ve had while living in Japan.

Why I Started Bean JP

Bean JP started because I wanted to learn how to build a website.

At the time, I was learning WordPress and wanted a place where I could practice while building something useful. Around the same time, I was also studying Japanese, so I began writing down what I learned on the website instead of keeping everything in a notebook.

At first, those articles were mainly written to help myself remember what I had learned.

After a while, I started receiving feedback from people who were also learning Japanese. That encouraged me to continue writing and sharing more.

Over time, the content on Bean JP expanded beyond Japanese learning and grew to include life in Japan, local travel, work, family, cooking, and my journey of learning technology.

Today, Bean JP still serves its original purpose: a place where I can keep a record of what I’ve learned, what I’ve experienced, and share those experiences with others who may find them useful.

What You’ll Find Here

Learning Japanese

I share Japanese knowledge that I have learned and continue to use in my daily life and work.

Topics include grammar, vocabulary, JLPT study experiences, and practical expressions commonly used in real working environments in Japan.

Exploring Japan

I write about places I’ve visited, restaurants I’ve tried, local festivals, and everyday experiences from life in Japan.

Most of the content focuses on Kinosaki Onsen, Toyooka, and the northern Hyogo region where I currently live.

Dad Journal

This is where I record stories and experiences from raising my son in Japan.

Sometimes they’re just ordinary family moments, but they’re memories I want to preserve and look back on in the future.

Cook With Bean JP

I enjoy cooking Vietnamese dishes using ingredients that are easy to find in Japan.

In this section, I share simple recipes and personal cooking experiences.

Learning Technology and Building an Independent Life

Outside of my regular job, I spend time learning WordPress, website development, AI, and other technology tools.

My goal is to gradually build additional income streams through these skills and create useful products for people.

Bean JP is also where I document that learning process and the experiments along the way.

A Few Words About Bean JP

I’m not an expert in any particular field.

Most of what I share comes from things I’m currently learning, doing, or have experienced firsthand.

Because of that, I hope you’ll see Bean JP more as a personal journal than a place for perfect answers or expert advice.

If you’re interested in learning Japanese, life in Japan, technology, or simply following the journey of a Vietnamese living in Japan, I hope you’ll find something useful here.

Thank you for visiting.
